Dream Kings.

There's nothing better than the feeling of a fresh new shirt on your skin.
After getting my hands on this little number, I knew I had to share it with you!

Dream Kings Co.
Now, I don't usually wear printed tee's but when I do, I want it to be something fresh, new, different yet classic with attention to details. And since I care about what I wear, I want to make sure its comfortable.

That means quality fabric & a good finish.

That's why I wear Dream Kings.

Started by a friend of mine, his passion for street style & inspiration from the Bay Area kick started his line. Dream Kings wouldn't be the same without their signature octopus logo sporting the iconic "Kings" crown.

Paired perfectly with your favorite Nike's
Dream Kings Co.
The company just released their Summer 2012 Look Book a few weeks ago, and their gear is getting a lot of attention. I fell in love with their designs and became an instant fan.

I'm so excited for their Fall line coming out next month and will be getting my shirts online here.

If you noticed my new heading, it was made especially for me by creative genius and Dream Kings founder, Nick. He's quite the visionary who's made his passion for designs into something that's generating popularity around the country & around the world.

Winery Fashion & Champagne Passion

I love wine, anyone who knows me well enough can tell you as much.
So when my boss asked if I'd like to tag along for a day trip to the Chateau Ste Michelle winery in Woodinville, I gleefully obliged.
Eastsider Diaries
I woke up excited & had just enough time to snap a few pictures of my winery outfit.

The afternoon started with some bubbly in the courtyard as we waited for our party to arrive.
This particular blend is the Domaine Ste. Michelle Blanc de Noirs.
Yummy.

Once everyone had arrived, we were led into the Chateau for a little tour.

After the tour we were seated in a small reception room for a presentation on the winery & various wine's created by Chateau Ste Michelle throughout Washington.

Lunch was served and while we ate, we tested our taste buds with the wine flights.
Our flights included:
Eroica Reisling (2011), Malborough Sauvignon Blanc (2011), KARIA Chardonnay (2009), Les Chevaux Red (2010), Uriah Red (2009), Col Solare (2007)

The Chardonnay was my absolute favorite, which surprised me since I consider myself a red wine kind of girl. But the way the Chardonnay paired with the lunch was superb. And it was so light that on this unusually hot day, it was quite refreshing.

After finishing my Blanc de Noirs & Chardonnay, it was off to the gift shop then back to the office.

Chateau Ste Michelle does summer concerts on their lawn which are pretty popular and have a good reputation for being absolutely fabulous. I've already checked out their schedule and decided to go to a concert next month! I'll be back here no no time, and I can't wait.

This winery is gorgeous and a perfect place to take guest from out of town, especially during the summer when the sun is out! Even if you're a local, like me, and you haven't been, I would definitely go. It's worth the drive (which is not far at all, only 15 minutes from downtown Bellevue) and worth the drinks!

Kick-Ass Kale Chips

This weekend I entered myself in a little raffle drawing and surprise, surprise, I won!
To my delight I received a box of fresh picked veggies from Hand-Farmed Organics full of scrumptious   goodies.

As I sifted through all the colorful veggies, I thought about what I could make with them.
And voila, I give you: The Healthiest Chips You'll Ever Eat!

Eastsider Diaries
These little bad boys are the definition of fabulous: they're easy to make, they're good for you, and they're delicious. I mean really, what more could you ask for?

Eastsider Diaries
Kale is THE vegetable you need to be eating. And here's why: Kale is an excellent source of natural antioxidants that help lower cholesterol and lower your risk of heart disease. This green leafy super-veggie is also highly associated with cancer protection.

Eastsider Diaries
Yeah, they're that awesome.
And if you aren't on your way to the store to get a batch, you should probably do so now.

To make your leafy chips, you'll need the following:

1 batch of Kale (washed and patted dry)
1 Tbsp Olive Oil
1 Tbsp Garlic Salt (or 2 freshly crusted garlic)
Parmesan Cheese

Take your washed Kale and tear off the leaves from the stem into bite size pieces.

Eastsider Diaries
Place them in a large bowl with the Olive Oil & Garlic Salt. For more garlic, use crushed garlic instead.

With your hands, toss & stir the leaves around so they're all lightly coated with olive oil and the salt.

On a baking sheet, lay out some foil. Pour the Kale leaves on the foil. Be sure to keep them separated.

Eastsider Diaries
Sprinkle the Parmesan Cheese over the leaves then pop the baking sheets in the oven at 300 degrees for about 15 minutes, or until crispy & looking like this.

Once baked, let them cool before scraping them into a bowl. Ta-Da! Kick-Ass Kale Chips.
Be sure not to inhale them in one bite -- it's tempting, I swear.

Pig Roast [No Spit Necessary]

At this very moment I am devouring my goodie-bag of leftovers from yesterday's festivities.

Eastsider Diaries

Every August brings warmer weather to the Pacific Northwest, tanner skin, and the promise
of the Annual Pig Roast.

Eastsider Diaries

The host & hostess of the Roast are good friends of the family. They have been doing this Pig Roast for a few years now and I must say this year they have outdone themselves. (Vegetarians, beware)

Eastsider Diaries
The Roast started in the morning with the arrival of the pig. By the time friends started to show up at 3:00, the pig was roasting modestly in its box.

Eastsider Diaries
As everyone waited for the fresh pork, we dived into the glorious appetizers served up by the host.
Kuo-Yu is quite the accomplished cook and though he's quite humble about his hobby, I'd say this is definitely something to brag about.

Eastsider Diaries

After roasting for a good few hours in the box, it was time to give the little porkie a flip.

And an hour or so later, it was time for the big reveal!

Everyone rushed in line to try the fresh pulled pork which was served with some home made sauces (complements of Kuo-Yu of course) and other dished brought by guests.

I devoured my plate in minutes and stepped in line for seconds.

This is something I wait all summer for, and this year it did not disappoint!
